Novi Schools Launch Web Site for Questions about $70.9 Million May 6 Bond Vote

The bond proposal, which would not increase the current millage rate, follows the recommendations of facilities assessments.

If approved, the proposal won’t increase the current millage rate, district officials said.

Superintendent Steve Matthews said the proposal allows Novi, one of the highest achieving districts in Michigan, to “sustain that excellence and serve our students well.”

“The Novi Community School District has outstanding facilities and resources,” he said. “The goal of the proposed bond is to sustain and enhance our capital assets so that we can continue to provide the highest quality educational experience for our students and our community.”

The ballot measure, located here, follows the recommendations of assessments of district facilities and buses and furniture and was developed after 11 hours of meetings by a Sustaining Excellence Steering Committee and three community members where residents were invited to give feedback.
