Village Oaks Bids Farewell to Fourth Graders

Novi students of the Class of 2020 graduated to the fifth grade Wednesday afternoon.

held a special farewell ceremony for its fourth grade students Wednesday afternoon.

The 90 students graduated from the school and will be attending in the fall, along with the approximately 400 other fourth graders from Novi's elementary schools.

Dozens of parents came out to Village Okas to watch the students walk across the stage. Superintendent Dr. Steve Matthews and Principal Sue Burnham both spoke at the ceremony, wishing the students best of luck in their futures.

"Now, you're ready. And now, you have all summer to think what Meadows will be like and the new friends you'll make. And the reason that you're ready is because of all the hard work of your teachers and Mrs. Burnham," Matthews said, asking the students to thank their teachers.

The event also featured a photo slideshow and a concert of two songs sung by the fourth graders.
