's football team has once again made it to the Division 1 state championship game, which will be played against Detroit Cass Tech Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ford Field.

In case you missed CC's season to far, here's a recap:

Before the season started, hype started building around the varsity football team and some of its star players, including defensive lineman Matthew Godin. The senior will play at the University of Michigan in 2012 and that CC planned to win a state title this year.

The boys then went on to defeat Delphos St. John's 14-7, Inkster 48-0, Highland Park 42-6, De La Salle 14-10, U of D Jesuit 20-13 and Brother Rice 21-19.

CC got its against Orchard Lake St. Mary's on Oct. 15. The team lost 14-13 after a missed point-after touchdown kick.

The Shamrocks redeemed themselves just one week later, beating St. Mary's 21-7 in the Prep Bowl. 

In the first game of the playoffs, CC beat Northville 56-6. The Shamrocks then to win the district title and to win the regional championship.

This past Saturday, in a nail-biting overtime game to win the semifinals 23-20 and move on to the championships. CC's overall record is now 12-1.

Cass Tech has a record of 10-3 and beat Utica Eisenhower 6-3 this past Saturday to advance to the finals.
