Heidi Prior, #46: Thinking of Sal Cipriano

Prior's son, Grant, is a junior wide receiver/defensive lineman on the Catholic Central varsity football team.

Detroit Catholic Central High School students and alumni love the school, and the football parents love and support their Shamrocks. While the team played on the field, Patch went into the stands to tell the stories of the parents who help make everything possible.

Thinking of Sal: "It's been a tough year and the team has tried to use that as a motivator. This week, Sal's uncle visited the team at practice and wanted everyone to know that Sal is fighting in rehab. That was a special thing."

(Ed.: Catholic Central senior Salvatore "Sal" Cipriano remained on the Catholic Central 2012 roster, even though he is still in a rehab facility recovering from injuries suffered in a brutal attack which took the life of his father Robert and severely injured his mother Rose.)

Rock-ing out: "Last weekend was a lot of fun — beating Rockford when a lot of people took us for underdogs because our guys aren't as big as theirs were. I think we've always found the motivation to step up as the stage gets bigger. This team has a lot of heart."
