Novi Athletic Director Resigns

After less than a year in Novi, Christian Wilson has decided to leave the position.

After coming on as the Novi Athletic Director in November, Christian Wilson is resigning from the position this school year.

Novi Superintendent Dr. Steve Matthews announced at the Novi Board of Education meeting Thursday that Wilson has decided to leave the position.

Wilson after former AD Curt Ellis for a job in Saline Area Schools.

"We're in the process of identifying of how we will proceed with that position," Matthews said at the meeting.

While searching for a replacement for Ellis, the district received more than 200 applications for the position, and 22 were interviewed.

Matthews said that Principal Carol Diglio and Athletics Secretary Carol Sprys are handling the work for now.

He said all of the practice and game schedules for the fall season have already been put together.

"So the fall program will go on without a hitch," he said.

Novi has approximatley 1,500 student athletes in more than 60 programs.
