Novi Bowling Teams Fall Short of Qualifying for State Finals

The teams wrapped up their seasons with matches this past weekend in Westland.

Feb. 24 Team regional at Westland Bowl:

The season ended under tough scoring conditions for both the boys and girls bowling teams. The top three teams qualified for the state finals next Friday. Boys finished in 11th place with a score of 3253, and the girls finished 5th place with a score of 3073, just 143 pins short of 3rd place.

Senior Callie Wright shot 187-184-164, good for 535 to lead the Novi girls.

The top 10 out of 72 bowlers qualified for the State Singles Tournament next Saturday. The best of the boys was junior Morgan Wiley, who shot 1045 for six games and finished in 22nd place. Senior Callie Wright finished 14th in the girls division with a score of 972, but sophomore Sara Schulz finished 4th, just four pins short of qualifying with a score 1004.
