Oakland County Court Displays Large American Flag

The flag will be on display through the Fourth of July.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson has ordered a large American flag to be draped on the west wing of the Oakland County Circuit Court building at 1200 N. Telegraph Road in Pontiac through the 4th of July.

"It serves as a reminder not only of our liberties, but of all those who have sacrificed life or limb to defend our freedom," said Patterson in a press release.

The flag's dimensions are 30 feet by 60 feet. It replaces an American flag that was torn by high winds while on display on the west wing of the courthouse last Veteran's Day. The new flag is resistant to high winds. It may be viewed by those passing the Oakland County government campus on Telegraph Road.

The flag was purchased from American Flag and Banner in Clawson with private funds.

The above was submitted in a press release from Oakland County.
