Yogurt City Brings More Frozen Yogurt to Novi

Nothing beats the summer heat like cool treats.

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt opened in Novi in May at Westmarket Square. Now there's another "froyo" option for Novi residents. Yogurt City opened about two weeks ago at Novi Town Center.

A Novi family stopped by Wednesday for a taste-test after shopping. Take a look at the photo above. Do you recognize the girl on the right?

She is Gioia Masseus, a 6-year-old cancer survivor. Patch wrote about her when her classmates at Novi Woods Elementary threw her a surprise party in honor of her win against cancer.

She is doing well and enjoyed her cheesecake flavored frozen yogurt with her mom, Szabina Masseus, and younger sister, Kyra Masseus.

Yogurt City has 21 flavors, like cheesecake and mango, including low fat and non fat options. Everything is self-serve, and customers pay $0.48 per ounce.

Since there are seven frozen yogurt dispensers, some of the flavors switch every month, said store operator Kenny Chin.

"What is more popular will stay on," he said.

Novi's location, at 26060 Ingersol Drive, is one of three in Michigan, and several more are opening around the state. Visit www.yogurtcity.com for details.
