'Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Will Have 10 PM Premiere

Here's local showtimes and ticket information for the final Twilight film.

It's the end of an era this week for Twihards around the world. Breaking Dawn - Part 2, the final installment of the Twilight Saga, premiers this week in theaters across the country. Instead of the usual midnight premiere, this year fans have a chance to catch the film at 10 p.m. on Thursday — and maybe get some sleep before school on Friday. Here's where you can catch the film this weekend: In addition to Emagine's standard showings, you can also see the film in D-Box, in which your seat moves at different points during the movie, or in E3, which is Emagine’s premium large-format auditoriums. Children's Leukemia Foundation To Host Fundraiser at Emagine Novi

The movie marathon event is Oct. 12-13.

The Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is hosting its annual Hollywood Nights Movie Marathon at Emagine Novi on Oct. 12-13. Movie lovers and supporters of the Foundation will watch movies for 24 hours to raise money and awareness to benefit children and adults affected by leukemia and other blood cancers across Michigan. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. and check-in is at 9 a.m. Participants pledge to raise $100 or more. You can sign up to participate or donate online.

Emagine Theatres: 'No Reasonable Level of Security Would Have Effectively Addressed the Tragedy That Unfolded in Aurora'

A statement from the CEO of Emagine Theatres, Paul A. Glantz, says it is "important for the movie-going public to view such events in the context of a historical perspective."

Emagine Entertainment CEO Paul Glantz said in a statement that "no reasonable level of security would have effectively addressed the tragedy that unfolded in Aurora, Colorado" last night, when a 24-year-old gunman opened fire in a crowded movie theater, killing 12 people and injuring dozens more at the midnight premiere of the new Batman movie. Emagine operates theaters in Novi, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Canton and Woodhaven. After expressing his sympathy for the victims, Glantz states that security of its guests is Emagines' foremost responsibility and urges movie-goers to "view such events in the context of a historical perspective." 'The Wiggles' Showing at Emagine Novi This Month

The Wiggles: Big Birthday will be showing at Emagine Theatre of Novi this month on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. The 59-minute film is presented by Kidtoons, which has been bringing beloved and well-known children’s brands and entertainment to cineplexes nationwide since 2004.  Kidtoons is offering one free ticket to the film per family, which is attached to this article as a PDF. In The Wiggles: Big Birthday Murray, Jeff, Anthony and Sam celebrate The Wiggles' 20th birthday. They’ve invited some of their favorite friends, Captain Feathersword, Dorothy, Wags and Henry, to help celebrate. The group invites children to join them in singing and dancing while they perform in live concert.

Updated: Power Restored to Emagine Theatre, Fountain Walk

The entire mall was without power Thursday due to storms.

Power has been restored to Emagine Theatre and all of the businesses at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, which were without power and closed all day Thursday. Power returned shortly before midnight. Most of the businesses had a sign posted on their doors stating that they are closed. Outside of Emagine, two employees sat on stools and explained the situation to moviegoers. The storms also left more than 3,000 without power in Novi, according to DTE. More has been returned to all but 400 of them. The following businesses were closed: The Sports Club of Novi and Novi Ice Arena, located on Novi Road near 10 Mile Road, were also without power, but reopened Friday.  Follow Novi Patch on Facebook for the latest on these closings.

Fourth of July: What's Closed, Open in Novi

City Offices will be closed Wednesday, but the mall will be open.

The Fourth of July is Wednesday, and the Novi Public Library, City offices at the Novi Civic Center, and the Novi Senior Center will be closed for the holiday. What will still be open in Novi? Twelve Oaks Mall will be open on Independence Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Emagine Theatre will also be open, and you can find showtimes online.

Support Our Troops: Sign Cards at Emagine Theatre in Novi

To help say thank you to the troops, Wells Fargo Advisors are inviting the public to sign 1,000 Cards for 1,000 Troops Thursday at multiple locations throughout metro Detroit.

Wells Fargo advisor Allen Olender and his colleagues usually spend most of their time planning their clients’ financial futures at Wells Fargo Advisors offices across metro Detroit. This week, they are taking time to give back to the troops stationed overseas. But they can't do it alone, and they're asking for your help. “This is an amazing opportunity to say thank you to our service members," Olender said. "We have it so easy here, and we often take it for granted.” Olender is inviting anybody who wants to sign a card for the troops to visit certain Emagine theaters and Wells Fargo Advisor offices this Thursday as part of the first-ever "1,000 cards for 1,000 troops" event. Wouldn't you know . . . I had a trivia question last night asking which movies had been nominated. Completely forgot "The Help" (which I love!) and "Hugo" (which had the most nominations).
