Former Novi Priest Faces Child Pornography Charges

A 62-year-old priest was arrested Wednesday for downloading more than 400 images of child pornography on a personal computer.

A former Catholic priest in Novi has been arrested and charged with downloading child pornography. According to the Detroit News, Timothy Murray, 62, was detained on charges of downloading pornographic pictures of naked children engaged in sexual poses on a personal computer. The News reports that Murray was being investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since May. On Dec. 19, Homeland Security agents executed a search warrant of Murray's residence, the News said. The former priest voluntarily admitted to Novi police that he used special software to download 500 images of child porn from the Internet.
