City Offices, Library Closed for New Year Holiday

Here's a list of what's closed in Novi on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

The following will be closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Twelve Oaks Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

5 Recipes for Your New Year's Party

Here are five easy recipes you can make for your New Year's Eve or New Year's Day gatherings. Ingredients: To start, brown the beef in a medium saute pan. Drain the fat. Add the onions and bell pepper, and cook until the onions are translucent (about 5 minutes). In a Crock Pot, combine the diced tomatoes, tomato juice, beans, pumpkin, chili powder, cumin, pumpkin pie spice, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Mix well. Next, add in the cooked beef and stir. Cook on low for six to eight hours, or on high for four hours. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese sprinkled on top and your favorite corn bread. Enjoy! What Are the Best Sledding Hills in the Novi-Northville Area?

CBS Detroit posted a list of the best sledding hills in the metro area and Northville's Cass Benton Park was on the list.

Nothing says "snow day" like gathering up the kids and heading to the nearest sledding hill for hours of winter fun. Northville's Cass Benton Park on Edward Hines Drive was included on CBS Detroit's recent list of the best sledding hills in metro Detroit. Other nearby hills on the list include Shiawassee Park in Farmington and Middlebelt Hill in Westland. What is your favorite place to sled in and around Northville and Novi? Please repave or fix 11 mile rd between Meadowbrook Rd and Walmart. This is the worst road in Novi. I can't understand why the city is not taking care of this section of 11 mile rd.   more ›
