Sky Zone Opening Delayed in Novi

The facility is opening in a new building on Magellan Drive.

The indoor trampoline park popular with children and adults was expected to open late this summer in Novi.

However, Sky Zone franchisee Colleen Fitzgerald said she is now hoping the Novi location will be open by the end of the year.

The facility is opening in a new building on Magellan Drive, one mile north of I-96 and just east of Beck Road.

Fitzgerald said she brought Sky Zone to Michigan after seeing how much her children enjoyed the one in Columbus, Ohio.

"It's a great way for everyone to get exercise," she said. "With increasing rates of obesity, we really need something like this."

Sky Zone offers options for most ages and body types. Activities include Open Jump, 3-D Dodgeball, SkyRobotics fitness classes, and offers group parties for birthday parties and corporate team-building programs.

It will have the same look readers may be familiar with at Canton's Sky Zone. Fitzgerald said it will have three dodgeball courts, a five-lane foam pit, a two-lane basketball dunking area and two party rooms with views of the facility.

Novi can expect to see several job openings at its Sky Zone. Fitzgerald said she intends to hire people for four full-time positions as well as several part-time positions.

Sky Zone is also opening in Shelby Township in the fall, Fitzgerald said.
