Do you have an activity relevant to this position or an endorsement which you would like readers to know of?

Many, well-respected local elected officials have endorsed my re-election bid, including:

  • State Representative Hugh Crawford
  • County Commissioner Kathy Crawford
  • Novi Mayor Bob Gatt
  • Novi Mayor Pro-Tem David Staudt
  • Novi City Councilmember Terry Margolis
  • Novi City Councilmember Wayne Wrobel
  • Novi City Councilmember Laura Casey
  • Former State Senator Nancy Cassis

Could you summarize why you are running for city council?

I am running for another 4 year term for two main reasons:

  1. I care deeply about the city I have called home all of my life.  My wife and I both grew up in Novi, graduating from Novi High School and we plan to raise our children in this great City that has provided us so many opportunities.
  2. I have the skills necessary to be an effective member of City Council from my education, my professional life, and the time that I have already spent serving our community.

What do you think are the greatest issues facing the city? How would you handle them?

If re-elected, I will continue to focus on:

  • Strong Financial Governance:  Lowered tax rates during the last four years while maintaining a healthy fund balance
  • Public Safety and Roads:  Added $2 million annually for “neighborhood” streets and invested in technology to improve snow storm response
  • Open Government:  Promote transparent government and always be available to the residents who elect me

Most importantly, I recognize that nothing can be done unilaterally and I will continue to work with my colleagues and the Mayor to prioritize the City’s resources toward the needs most important to Novi Residents.
