Research Writing ESL Celebration!

On Monday, June 3rd we celebrated the culmination of our research writing. In the morning, the second graders created artistic, informational, tri-fold posters to display their research on rain forest animals. In the afternoon, the 3rd and 4th graders held a wax museum where they researched a famous historical person and dressed accordingly. The students shared their work with their parents and school administrators from Novi Public Schools and Novi-based, Ringo Kai, Detroit Japanese School. The day was a celebration of the students' work as well as the parent volunteers who put in countless hours assisting in the ESL classroom. Speaking, reading, writing, and listening in English are four essential parts of language acquisition. This was a project that encompassed all and pushed our students in every area. Way to go Parkview ELL students!
