Novi Students Wear Pajamas to Help Tornado Victims

Fourth grade students at Novi's Parkview Elementary are hoping to raise $1,000.

Students at Novi's Parkview Elementary wore pajamas to school Friday to raise money for those affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma.

Miranda Prieur, 9, in Connie Dye's fourth grade class, thought of the idea after hearing about what happened.

Students had to donate a minimum of $2 to wear pajamas to school on Friday. Her goal is to raise $1,000 and she has until June 10 to raise the funds.

"I think we raised $100 or even more now," Prieur said about Friday's fundraiser.

Kristen Prieur said her daughter went door-to-door in her neighborhood to collect donations and assembled a group of her friends to help.

If you’d like to donate, contact Prieur at 734-323-7854. If donors are interested in a tax deductible donation, they can make checks out to the American Red Cross.
