Make a Wish Foundation Recognizes Geisler Middle School Student

From a district press release:

Kevin Lee, seventh-grader at Geisler Middle School, has a congenital heart condition. He was born without a right ventricle and has had four open-heart surgeries. His mother contacted Make-A-Wish Foundation and learned that his life-threatening condition made Kevin eligible to submit his wish.

Kevin’s wish was to play football with Russell Wilson, quarterback with the Seattle Seahawks. His wish was granted; and earlier this summer, Kevin and his family visited with the Seattle Seahawks at the team’s training facility.

Kevin’s inspiring story and visit with the Seattle Seahawks will air on ESPN’s Sportscenter at 11 p.m. on Aug. 17 and throughout the day on Aug. 18.

Dawn Lee, Kevin’s mother, said: “Make-a-Wish, the Seattle Seahawks and even the personnel at our hotel far exceeded any expectations we may have had. They told Kevin, when he was thinking of his wish, to really reach for the stars and he did. They gave him what he asked for and more than he could have ever conceived. We are truly grateful for this once in a lifetime experience!”
